ALBERT, Joseph Peter

Joseph Peter Albert, 80, of Phoenix, AZ passed away on October 28, 2003. He was born on May 6, 1923 in New Castle, PA. Mr. Albert was a member of the U.S. Air Force for 30 years and retired with honors. He served in 2 wars: World War II Korea. He received the purple heart, bronze star and also served in the honor guard for President Roosevelt. He also was a prisoner of war in WWII. He is married and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was preceded in death by parents, Elizabeth and Thomas Albert; brother, Adbo Albert; and sisters, Frieda and Mary Albert. Survivors include his wife Carmen, 3 children; Marietta Swim, John Albert and Patricia McElroy; 2 grandchildren; Adam Albert and Colten McElroy. Memorial Services Tuesday, November 4, 2003 at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 3630 N. 71st Ave., Phoenix, AZ. The Arizona Republic 11/2/2003.
