Troup, 73, died Jan. 13, 2013, at home in Prescott, Ariz., with his loving wife Bunny by his side. Jim was born Nov. 23, 1939, to James and Doris (Taphouse) Troup in Huntington, N.Y. He joined the Air Force in 1958, serving for four years. In 1967, Jim and Bunny were married in New York, where their two children, Jill and Scott, were born. Ten years later, in 1977, they decided to move their family to Phoenix, Ariz. It was in Phoenix that Jim realized his dream to become the sole proprietor of an upholstery shop until his retirement in 1999. After retirement, Jim and Bunny moved into a home they designed and helped build in Prescott. Loving his trade, Jim continued to do custom work in a shop at his Prescott home until his health deteriorated. Jim is survived by his wife of 45 years, Bunny Troup of Prescott; daughter Jill and son-in-law Brett Sharp of Georgia; son Scott and daughter-in-law Maeva Troup of Oregon; brother Dennis and sister-in-law Cyndi Troup of New York; sister Betty Peterson of New Hampshire; grandchildren Richard and Andrea Perez, Cindy and Alan McQueen, Dan and Larissa Walker of California; and great-grandchildren Myles, Nolan, and Colton McQueen, and Alexis Perez. He was preceded in death by his sister Eileen DiNuovo; brother-in-law Carl Peterson; and his parents. Jim was proudest of his family and his military service. He was kind and generous to anyone he knew, was always willing to lend a hand to friends or strangers, was unfailingly patient and had a delightful sense of humor. Throughout his long illness, his true personality showed as he dealt with whatever adversity came not with complaints, but with thoughts of how to make things easier for his wife and caregivers. He enjoyed fishing, reading, traveling with his wife and sharing time with his family. A private cremation was at the Wakelin Bradshaw Funeral Home and Crematory.
