Kenneth Suggs, 79, was born in Stigler, Oklahoma, but moved with his family to California early in his life. He graduated from Wasco Union High School and attended Bakersfield College before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force in 1953.
He was stationed at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas, Thule, Greenland, and Randolph AFB in San Antonio before being honorably discharged in 1957.
He graduated from The University of Texas, Austin, in 1960 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Kenn worked for Sperry/Honeywell for 32 years, living in New York, New Mexico, Washington, Texas, a tour in Japan and retiring in Phoenix in 1992 and moving to Cottonwood in 1994.
Kenn was preceded in death by his parents, Blueford and Jessie Suggs, and sisters, Mickey Handel and Gloria Grose.
Surviving Kenn are his loving wife of 56 years, Jeanette; son, Greg Suggs; daughter, Lee Ann DellaSala, son-in-law Dominick DellaSala and granddaughter Ariela Fay DellaSala; brother-in-law, Glenn Handel (Beverly); sister-in-law, Bonnie Menefee; nieces and nephews Joni (Terry) Lewis, Lisa Nunez (Robert), Cindy Velasquez (Tom), Sherry Horsley, Carla Schultz (Larry), Scott Clark (Amber), Dee Ann Bridges (Ron), Lonnie Howard (Argelia), Judd Ueckert (Denise) and Les Ueckert (Joan).
Kenn enjoyed reading, watching sports and gardening. He was actively involved with the Unity Church in Phoenix, Sedona and Cottonwood and volunteered several years with the AARP tax assistance program in Cottonwood.
A private family service was held Jan. 7; a memorial service is being planned for a later date.
