Sarah Lynn Rouette, 38, passed peacefully with her mother by her side on Jan. 7, 2013, after a courageous and defiant battle against breast and ovarian cancer. Sarah was born on April 21, 1974, in Ubon, Thailand.
Sarah inspired many during her brave fight to live every moment fulfilled. Her passion for life was contagious and a deep sense of loss is felt by many in the Prescott community. Sarah's smile and endless interest in life was cherished by many who pedal the mountains of Prescott, shuttle their kids between school and games, visit her family's restaurant Oriental Express in Chino Valley, and love the uniqueness and beauty of this caring community.
Most of all, Sarah will be remembered as a devoted and loving mother to sons, Corbin and Mason Rouette. Sarah felt blessed to be the mother of her two amazing and kind boys and grateful for each day spent together. Sarah is also survived by her mother, Patty Marquez; father John Dustman; and brother Sean Dustman.
Sarah was surrounded and loved profoundly by a circle of woman who will always hold a place in their heart for her beautiful and special friendship. Sarah strengthened each person who came to know her. As much as she was strong willed and stubborn, Sarah was generous, caring and just plain fun to those lucky to her call a friend.
Sarah's inspirational journey was chronicled in the Prescott Woman magazine, The Daily Courier and on her blog: drink water and breathe. In Sarah's own words: "Life has a magical way of pressing on. Take some time, count your blessings and shed some love tears, the kind of tears that flow when you think of perfect love."
A celebration of Sarah's life will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at the Crossroads Center at Prescott College. An account for the benefit of Sarah's boys, Corbin and Mason has been established at Chase Bank.
