Daniel, affectionately known as “Danny,” passed away peacefully at his home on January 13, 2013. Danny was a very rich and blessed man; he might not have been wealthy by worldly standards but was wealthy beyond means in terms of wealth that matters. What he was wealthy in was love, and that love is never ending. He loved his family unconditionally and was first, a devoted father; second, a proud grandfather; and third, a proud U.S. Veteran. He was proud of his service in the United States Army during Vietnam. Danny’s greatest joys in life were being out in the country with his children hunting, or just spending time with them. It was a successful trip if nothing was bagged as long as he got to spend time with his children. He loved just going out in the hills with a loved one and appreciated the time spent with them. Danny Maldonado was a wealthy man; he greatly loved, and was greatly loved by others. Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Margarite and Daniel Maldanado. He is survived by his children, Danny (Janet) Maldonado, Rey Maldonado, David Maldonado, Maggie (Kyle) Maldonado, Jennifer Maldonado; and his grandchildren, Destyn’ee, Daniel ”Tazzy,” and Jordan Mares, Jey’Lenah and Reina Maldonado, Mia and Eve Montoya, Ali Gibbs, Jazmyn and Nevaeh Rodriguez, and Damien and Dominic Maldonado. Danny will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him. A celebration of His life will take place at 2:00 p.m. on January 26, 2013 at McDougal’s Caldwell Funeral Chapel. He will be laid to rest in the Safford cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Potter’s House Christian Center located at 402 W. Main Street in Safford.
