On Dec. 30, 2012 George King passed away peacefully in his sleep at his residence in Camarillo, Calif., with his beloved wife and children by his side. George was born in Brooklyn N.Y., April 14, 1932. He later moved with his family to California. After school, he went into the Navy where he served four years. While on leave from the Navy he met Margory Bachalar and they were married soon after.
In 1960, George started his career as a law enforcement officer with the Santa Ana Police Department where he worked for a couple years before transferring to the Palm Springs Police Department. He retired from law enforcement in 1979 from the Palm Springs PD as Chief of Police. After retiring, George moved his family to Lake Havasu City, where he resided until 2010 when he moved to Camarillo, Calif. During his duration in Lake Havasu City, George worked at Desert Floors and stayed active in a local police organization called Footprinters.
George was preceded in death by his mother, father, step-father, sister and brother. He is survived by his wife, Marge; daughters, Deborah and Theresa; son, Michael; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. George loved his family very much and would do anything for them. He will forever be missed by his family and friends
