Our beloved Florence Idella Moeur (Nana) died peacefully on Monday, March 1, 2004 in Ellensburg, Washington at age 96.
She was born July 4, 1907 in Colton, California to the late Ira Issac and Kittie May (Winn) Haynes, the youngest of 3 girls.
The family settled in Arizona in 1910, and Idella obtained her teaching certificate from Tempe Normal School in 1927. She was united in marriage to William (Bill) A. Moeur on June 12, 1926 in Tempe, Arizona. She and Bill lived in Arizona until 1972 at which time they moved to Ellensburg, WA.
Idella was a devoted wife and mother of four. A lifetime homemaker with a flair for entertaining, she was renowned for both her culinary and decorating skills. She adored antiques, cats and roses, along with her much loved Mariners. She excelleed at bridge, sewing, and took many pack trips with her riding group, the Desert Saddle Bags, out of Wickenburg.
Idella is survived by sons: William (Bill) Moeur of Fontana, California, Mike Moeur and his wife, Betty of Ellensburg, Washington, and Jerry Moeur and his wife, Cheryl of Tempe, Arizona, along with 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Idella was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Moeur, daughter, Jeanne Augustine, grandson, John Augustine, sister, Jay Boeck, and sister, Bess Cardwell.
Per her request, no funeral services were conducted.
