Bettie Brown Shearin, of Sun Lakes, AZ died April 10, 2004. Bettie was born December 12, 1921 to Nell Ann & James Brown in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Her father died 2 years after her birth. Her mother moved to Hollywood, CA where Bettie attended Franklin Avenue Elementary School, Thomas Starr King Jr. High and John Marshall High School. She attended Los Angeles Community College for 2 years. She married Melvin Boatright and had a daughter, Pamela Sue. She later married Russell Shearin and they had a daughter, Debra Lee. Bettie worked at Lockheed Missiles and Space Company for 23 years as a tech data librarian and procurement specialist. She retired in 1982. She loved to sing and when the Shearins moved to Sun Lakes, she began to follow her dream to entertain. Her happiest moments where spent entertaining with the Le Cabaret Singers and The Sun Lakes Chorale. Celebration of Life at The Sun Lakes United Methodist Church, 9248 E.
