DELESKI, Genevieve

Longtime Yucca Valley resident and former Morongo Unified School District teacher Genevieve Deleski died Jan. 5, 2005, after a short illness. She was 97 years old. Mrs. Deleski taught primary education at the Joshua Tree and Morongo Valley elementary schools. She was a graduate of Arizona State University and held a master's degree in remedial reading from the University of Arizona and was a past president of the local chapter of the California Retired Teachers Association. She is survived by daughter Georgia Swenson of Yucca Valley, son Joe Deleski of Long Beach, three granddaughters and one great-granddaughter. A memorial service was held Feb. 13, 2005, in the Sanctuary at the Institute of Mentalphysics at 59700 Twentynine Palms Highway in Joshua Tree. A short reception will follow.
