The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 01/22/2013 Avelin Palmer, 71, of Fort Apache, died Jan. 17, 2012 in Mesa, AZ. Avelin was born Sept. 7. 1941 in Canyon Day. Her parents were Walter Joseph Palmer and Gracie Fall Palmer. She lived at her home in Fort Apache for her entire life. She attended school at St. John’s Catholic School in Laveen. She is survived by three children: Stephanie (Shawnee, OK), Janelle (Fort Apache), Brent (Phoenix), and Shaun (Fort Apache; and three sisters: Corina Palmer, Lenora Skidmore, Judy Massey all of Fort Apache. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Fidelis and Truman Palmer; two aunts: Naomi Harrina and Ruth Clendon; three uncles: Homer Fall, Cecil Fall, Percy Fall; and a son Tyron Gordon. A service was to be held at the Whiteriver Assembly of God. Arrangements handled by Silver Creek Mortuary. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Silver Creek Mortuary, Taylor, Arizona Avelin Palmer Gordon (September 7, 1941 - January 17, 2013) Avelin Gordon, of Fort Apache, died on January 17, 2013, at Mountain Vista Hospital in Mesa, Arizona. She was born September 7, 1941 to the late Walter Joseph Palmer and Gracie Fall. Avelin graduated from St. John’s Catholic School in Laveen, Arizona where she was active in sports. She also attended Lamson Business College in Phoenix, Arizona. Avelin was also a member of the Whiteriver Assembly of God Church. Survivors include her children: Stephanie (Tony Gomez), Janelle (Paul Dengler), Brent (Francilla Cassa), and Shaun; grandchildren: Joseph Dengler, Paul Gomez, Taryn Gordon, Ethan Alsenay-Gordon; sisters: Corina Palmer, Lenora Skidmore, Judy Massey and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Tyrone Gordon, her brothers: Truman Palmer, Fedelis Palmer; niece Sherry Bonito; aunts Naomi Harrina, Ruth Clendon; uncles: Homer Fall, Reynold Palmer, Ernest Palmer, Cecil Fall and Percy Fall.
