Stella B. Popiela, 95, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at home in Eagar, five days short of a century. She was born Dec. 28, 1917, in Elizabeth, N.J. the daughter of Mathew and Julia Piotrowski, one of six children, five girls and one boy. Stella could brighten a room with her beautiful smile.
Stella was married for 62 years to Rudolph F. Popiela, they had two children: Carol Buseman of Eagar and Rudolph J. Popiela.
Stella lived in Linden, N.J. with her loving husband, Rudy. She worked for Schering Pharmaceutical Copr. They retired and moved to Florida, and then to Sun City, where she enjoyed painting, gof and crafts. In 2006, she moved to Eagar, where she lived for the past six years of her life. She loved living in the beautiful White Mountains of Eastern Arizona.
Stella is survived by her sister, Adele Tych of N.J.; daughter Carol of Eagar; daughter-in-law M. Bernadette Popiela of N.J.; grandchildren: John (Dawn) Buseman of Eagar, Paul (Gina) Buseman of Phoenix, Kelly Popiela (Matt) Rich of Scottsdale, Guy (Yen) Popiela of Fort Worth, Texas; six great-grandchildren: Danika and Lauren of Eagar, Sydney and Spencer of Phoenix, Casimir of Florida, Brayden of Scottsdale; and a great-great-grandson, Damien of Florida.
Stella was preceded in death by five of six of her siblings, her husband Rudolph F. Popiela, son Rudolph J. Popiela and son-in-law Jan A. Buseman of Eagar.
