GAILLARD, William (Bill) Nash


The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Thursday, January 24, 2013 William (Bill) Nash Gaillard, 60, passed away suddenly at his home in Prescott, Ariz., on Jan. 11, 2013. Bill grew up in San Diego, Calif., and ultimately graduated from USC with a bachelor's degree in international relations. Bill subsequently moved to Redondo Beach, Calif., and worked for Hughes Helicopters as a procurement officer. Bill enjoyed writing short stories, and published his father's WWII diary, "Flight Surgeon, Diary of a Medical Detachment." Bill was best known for his interest in history, and was quite involved in documenting historical facts about the early residents of Prescott and Yavapai County. Bill is survived by his children, Joshua Smith and Julia Isabelle Gaillard; his sister, Cheryl Gaillard-Tkach; his cousin Robin Nash Holmes of Prescott, and Lisa Nash Holmes of Davis, Calif.; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service is planned in San Diego, Calif., at a later date. He will be missed by many. The family thanks the Prescott Police Department, Prescott Fire Department and Lifeline Medical Response for all their efforts to keep him with us, but God called him home.
