Charles was born Jan. 23, 1949, to Nina and Sidney Gallup. He was later adopted by Richard Galloway. He was raised in the Stockton, Calif., area with his two sisters, Melodee and Mary Ann; and two brothers, Michael and David, until the age of 12 when the family moved to Santa Barbara, Calif., where he spent his teenage years discovering his passion for surfing along the Santa Barbara coastline. Jan. 28, 1969, he married Linda, the love of his life. On Feb. 4, 1969, he was deployed to Vietnam as an Air Traffic Controller for the U.S. Army, where he served our country until September 1970. Following his honorary discharge, he went to work at IMCO in Santa Barbara as a plastic mold operator. In 1979, he moved with his wife and two daughters to Washington state where he resided until 1995, when he relocated to Lake Havasu City. He worked with his mother, Nina, as a general contractor, building homes for nearly 20 years in California, Washington and Arizona. Besides his love of building, he enjoyed gardening, golfing, fishing, camping and frequent trips to Laughlin to play craps. Charles is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 44 years, Linda; his daughters, Paulette and Lisa; his son-in-law, Geoff; eight grandchildren, Brittny, Kaleb, Jacob, Sydney, Logan, Lily, Roxana and Ryan; and one great-grandchild, Dominic. Our family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Havasu Regional Medical Center and the Home Health nurses, not only for the medical services they provided, but also for the care and compassion they provided to us in our time of sorrow. A memorial service will be Saturday, at 1 p.m., at The Living Faith Center in Santa Barbara, Calif., for family and friends to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Department of Veterans Affairs in his name would be greatly appreciated.
