Raymond Gilbert Bergman died Jan. 21, 2013. Ray was born March 2, 1920, and was almost 93 years of age. Ray is survived by his wife of 48 years, Christine Bergman; and stepson, Gordon Cannady, aka Gordon Bergman, of Lake Havasu City; son, Charles Bergman and daughter Diane Lee, both of Laughlin, Nev. Ray is also survived by grandsons, Mickey and Guy Bergman, of Laughlin, Nev., and Jason Ferris, of Cottonwood, and Shawn Ryser; and several great-grandchildren. Also Ray is survived by his loving sister-in-law and her husband, Delores and Jerry Jones, of Sparks, Nev.; as well as his brother-in-law Dale Harris and family, of Reno, Nev.
Ray was born in Forest Park, Ill., the son of Christopher Charles Bergman and Adeline Oswald Bergman. Ray is also predeceased by his two younger brothers, Robert and Arthur Bergman; and niece, Connie Bergman Anderson.
Ray’s father and mother moved the family to Oakland, Calif., when Ray was 6 years old and Ray attended schools in Oakland, Calif. Ray joined the Navy during World War II and spent seven years in the Navy. Ray was an aircraft mechanic and served the majority of his service time on Einewetok in the South Pacific.
Ray was truly a “Jack of All Trades”; he was a pilot and loved flying. Ray was a stock broker, a real estate agent, a builder, having designed and built several homes and also designed and built, along with his lifelong partner, Michael Cinani, the only funeral home in Sparks, Nev., as well as apartment complexes and several homes. Ray and his wife, Christine, moved to Lake Havasu City from Sparks in 1981 and resided in Havasu permanently since 1984. Ray is also survived by his beloved niece, Janis Desmarius and nephew, William Bergman, and nephew Wayne Andersen.
In keeping with Ray’s wishes, there will be no services.
