McDougal's Caldwell Funeral Chapel, Safford, Arizona Isabel G. Chavez November 18, 1926 ~ January 25, 2013 Isabel G. Chavez, 86, of Safford, passed away Friday, January 25, 2013 at Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center. Isabel was born on November 18, 1926 to Cleofus and Augustina Galvan. Funeral services for Isabel will be on Wednesday, January 30, 2013. All services will be at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and will begin with the viewing at 9 a.m., the Rosary at 10 a.m. and the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with interment following at the Safford cemetery. ~~~~~~~~~ McDougal's Caldwell Funeral Chapel, Safford, Arizona Isabel G. Chavez November 18, 1926 ~ January 25, 2013 Isabel Galvan Chavez, loving wife and mother passed away suddenly in her home on January 24, 2013 at the age of 86. Isabel is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Manuel; daughter, Maria Estella, son Manuel Jr.; brothers, Ysidro and Enrico Galvan. Isabel is lovingly remembered by her sons and daughters: Rene Chavez of Safford, Fernando Chavez of Encinitas, California, Sally Milazzo of Sierra Vista, and Irene Lippard of Gilbert; Sisters, Esther Flores and Josephina Fraijo of Phoenix; fourteen grandchildren including Erin Rojas, Garrett and Jordan Chavez, Jeffrey Rodriquez, Fernando Chavez, Jr., Robert Chavez, Adrianna Nahra, Michael A. Milazzo, Anthony J. Milazzo, John Paul Milazzo, Maria E. Milazzo, Matthew J. Milazzo, Jessica Galusky, Tim Galusky and 15 great grandchildren. Isabel was born in Alamo Alto, Texas on November 18, 1926 to Cleophas and Augustina Galvan. At an early age, Isabel became responsible for raising her four siblings when her own mother passed away and her father was forced to leave to find work to support the family. In 1948, Isabel married Manuel A. Chavez and shortly thereafter moved to Arizona where they raised their own family. Isabel was a tremendously selfless and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to those around her. Isabel enjoyed watching her “Novelas”, gardening, crochet, sewing, and most importantly had a deep devotion to Our Blessed Mother and her Roman Catholic faith. She was always supportive, loving and deeply committed to her marriage and responsibilities as our Mom and grandmother. She was always there to provide counseling and loving support when we needed her, and always prayed for her children and grandchildren to succeed in life. It’s our turn now to pray for you, Mom; we will love you forever and miss you until we meet again. May God keep you safe in his loving arms as you watch over all of us. The visitation will be held at St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church, 311 S. Central Avenue in Safford on Wednesday, January 30th, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. The Rosary will follow at 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian burial will follow on the same day, January 30, 2013 at 11:00. A reception will take place at St. Rose of Lima’s Reception Hall following the burial.
