DEVINE, Thomas Richard (Rick)


Mohave Daily News, Mohave Valley, AZ - Published in Mohave Daily News Online from January 23 to January 30, 2013 - Thomas Richard (Rick) Devine, age 61, a 30-year resident of Bullhead City, Ariz. passed away suddenly on Friday, January 11, 2013 at his home. Rick was born on August 14, 1951 in San Pedro, Calif. to Thomas Richard and Janet Devine. He grew up in Garden Grove, Calif. In 1969 he graduated from Bolsa Grande High School, where he met the love of his life, Lynne Harvey. After graduating, he continued working at Angel Stadium where he loved to make drinks for Gene Autry. He sealed the deal in 1972 and married his one true love, no not rum, Lynne Harvey. Rick and Lynne moved to Bullhead City with their children in 1982. Rick loved his "wheelin and dealin" and ended up owning two businesses, Advantage Roofing and most recently, Yo Yo's Tacos. Rick loved life, family, friends and golf. He had a huge heart and he brought laughter and annoyance everywhere he went. He was known for his many sayings such as, "Facts are facts, rules are rules; Yo Yo Yo, and toughen up buttercup." Life will not be the same without him. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, and will truly be missed. He was preceded in death by his mother, Janet Devine; brother, Terry Devine; brother-in-law, Nick Cease; sister-in-law, Charlie Devine; and father-in-law, Clifford Harvey. Rick is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Lynne Devine; son, Jeremiah (Amy) Devine of Mohave Valley Ariz.; daughter, Renee (Vince) Nelson of Quartzsite, Ariz.; three brothers, Keith (Karen), Craig, and Duke Devine of Southern California; sister, Karen Cease of San Diego, Calif.; six grandchildren whom he adored, Miah, Camdyn, Bailee, Joseph, Justin, and Avery; and a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Calvary Chapel, 1690 Newberry Dr., Bullhead City, Ariz. A Celebration of Life to follow at the El Rio Golf Course, 1 Paseo El Rio, Mohave Valley, Ariz.
