Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Sunday, January 27, 2013 - Dolores "Jean" Silvey, 83, Lake Havasu City, passed away on Jan. 23, 2013 at Flower's Assisted Living Facility with family nearby. Dolores Jean Beard was born on Jan. 2, 1930 in Clovis, N.M. to Ivy and Irma Lucille (Britt) Beard. After graduating high school she married the love of her life, Eugene (Gene) Silvey. They made their home in Morenci, Ariz. before moving to Safford, Ariz. where Jean worked as a beautician. In 1986, she and Gene moved to Lake Havasu City to be closer to their son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. Jean could say "I love you" with a wink of her eye and fill a room with her smile. She told wonderful stories, had an eye for pretty things, made delicious ham and cheese sandwiches, and was generous with her hugs and love pats. She was loved tremendously and will be deeply missed. Jean is survived by her husband Gene, Lake Havasu City; brother, Gordon Ivy Beard, Norco, Calif.; son, Gary (Debra) Silvey, Lake Havasu City; four grandchildren, Charlene (Joe) Koski, Seattle, Wash., Christy Meek, Chandler, Chandra (Nate) Reeb, Marana, Ariz., Chad (Rebekah) Silvey, Jonesboro, Ark.; great grandchildren, Hudson Meek, Hawkin Roth, Mattea, Jaelin and Maxwell Reeb, Lukas and Levi (due May 2013) Silvey.
