HAY, Billy June

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 01/29/2013 Billy June Miller Hay died peacefully Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, surrounded by her family and friends. June, as she preferred to be called, was born April 29, 1929, in Albany, Texas. She met the love of her life, Martin Hay, in high school. They married in an Army chapel at Camp Shelby, Miss., and were married for 65 years until Martin’s passing in 2009. June earned her master’s degree and taught school for 20 years. They spent summers in the area from 1956 and moved permanently to Springerville in 1972. She was active in the community and the local family business. She and Martin had three children: Marty Hay, Beth Conlin and George Hay. She is survived by Marty Hay, Beth Conlin, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
