SELLS, Judith Anne

(Maiden Name: Sweet)

Parker Pioneer, Parker, AZ >> Judith A. Sells << >> Oct. 30, 1934 – Jan. 6, 2013 << Judith Anne Sells, 78, passed away Jan. 6, 2013 in Lake Havasu City, Ariz. Judith was born and raised in New York, the youngest of three children. While attending Northern Arizona University, she met and fell in love with John Robert Sells and went back to her hometown of Aurora, NY, to be married. Judy and John moved to Parker, Ariz., in the early 80’s where they both worked for the Parker Unified School District until they both retired. Judy was married to “Bob” for 58 years before his death in December of 2011. She enjoyed spending time with her family and bragging about her husband to whom ever would listen. You would never catch her reading just one book, because she was often in the middle of five all at one time. She collected puzzles and brainteasers; she could solve the Rubik’s cube, puzzle boxes and any Sudoku challenge. On a lazy day though, you might have caught her playing Tetris on her Nintendo DS (yes, even at 70 years old). She and her two daughters started, “The Enchanted Egg” a small business where they decorated and embellished eggs, creating jewelry boxes and even carousels. Judy’s family knew her as a confessed addict. She was addicted to sweets; grandkids could appreciate vanilla ice cream with unending chocolate syrup or Yoplait yogurt by the dozen. She was addicted to life; we’ll never forget how she would dance around singing, “If I were a rich man” with her hands held high in the air. She was addicted to love; Judy’s complete devotion to her husband taught her children and grandchildren the meaning of true love. She is survived by five children; sons, Mark, John, David Sells, of Yuma, Ariz.; daughters, Deborah Campbell, Elizabeth Firlein, of Parker. She also leaves behind, 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brother, William Sweet, of Rockville, Md.; and sister, Helen Buck, of Yuma, Ariz. Judy was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all. She will be truly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing Judith Anne Sells. She is in a better place and may God bless us as Judy did with her love and friendship.
