Steven Jeffrey Michels, 63, passed away peacefully on Jan. 21 in Yarnell.
He was born in Eau Claire, Wisc., to Mike and Beverly Michels.
Steve lived and worked in the Phoenix area for many years before his move to Yarnell in 2005.
He was an independent contractor for DirecTV and provided installation and servicing. He was known to some as “the cable guy” but also offered handyman services to many families in the Yarnell area.
Steve as a talented musician, played the guitar, and wrote songs he would sing with his close friends.
His other hobby was gold and mineral prospecting, and he would often be found stomping around the local hills and desert.
Steve was extremely loving and proud of his daughters Tahnia Yelton and Trisha Jakowchuk, who reside in the Phoenix area. He also is survived by his sisters Sharon Green and Robin Goglin; brother David Michels; and five grandchildren.
Steve was a reliable, honorable man who lived a quiet, private life and will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of being one of his friends and family.
