Anne Elizabeth Adams Reidhead, 59, of Taylor died Jan. 20, 2013, after a brief struggle with cancer.
Anne was born Nov. 28, 1953, in Mesa. She graduated from Snowflake High School in 1971.
In 1974, Anne married Terry Reidhead of Show Low and the couple moved to Nutrioso, where they raised four children.
Anne worked many different jobs in her life and just talking to her, one might wonder how such an immense amount of knowledge could be contained by one little gal. She’s started out her adult life as a saw-miller at Reidhead Bros. Lumber Company and ranch hand in Nutrioso, where she developed a love of working outdoors. She was a no nonsense woman who refused to let a job go half-done regardless of working conditions or weather. She could operate loaders and saws, stack lumber and drive a truck with the best of them.
Around the mid 1990’s Anne moved to Thatcher and Pima, where she took a job working for Hacienda Harley Davidson as a truck driver. Anne loved working around the shop with all the motorcycles. She loved the loud rumble of the engines and befriended many a wild biker. Anne was passionate about toy runs and charity food runs the biker gangs organized in Southeastern Arizona.
Anne loved antiques, canning and gardening. Her beautiful home in Taylor is a testament to her enthusiasm. It was always a source of pride for her and filled with wonderful treasures and goodies from her antiquing days and gardens. Anne would spend hours toiling in a hot kitchen to stock the pantries and hearts of her loved ones. Her personal favorites were canned pickles and salsa.
Anne is survived by her siblings: Mike and Bonnie Adams, Carol Patten, Linda and Al Fagotti, Bill and Phoebe Adams; children: Karen and Jim O’Brien, Charlie Reidhead and Jeannie and Travis Hinton. Anne also has a half dozen “grand angels” Lea and Rocky O’Brien, Hannah and Erick Reidhead and Fallyn and Rylee-Roo Hinton. She’ll also be loved and missed by many nieces, nephews and close friends.
Anne was preceded in death by her mother and father Jean and Carl Adams, son Eric Reidhead and nephew Paul Patten.
A memorial celebration of life will be held in Nutrioso in the spring. A notification will be sent out prior to the event.
