GOITIA, Edward

Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona, Thursday, January 31, 2013 Edward Goitia, lifelong resident of Flagstaff, passed away at his home on Monday, January 28, 2013. After leading the 1952 Flagstaff High School Eagles football team to a state championship as co-captain, Edward went on to serve in the National Guard and then in the Army. Upon his return from Korea as a sergeant, he married his high school sweetheart, Margaret Ramirez. In their 55 years of marriage, they were blessed with six children: Linda (Rick) Anderson, Victoria (Kent) Taylor, Kathleen (Joe) Reichman, Joseph (Tanya), Michael (Michelle), and Margaret Ann (Kevin) Kosisky, 16 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Edward will be greatly missed by all. Rosary will be Friday, 10:30 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Funeral mass will follow at 11am and burial will conclude services at Calvary Cemetery where he will receive military honors.
