John G. Luke, 91, of Phoenix, passed away peacefully April 9, 2004.
Born in Guangzhou, China in 1913, John attended Ling Nam University in his hometown before moving to Seattle in 1941. Eventually he moved to San Francisco where he worked in the import-export business until he met and married his wife of 45 years, Susie (Yen) Luke, of Phoenix, who survives him. Together they owned and operated Pay-N-Sav Market at 27th Avenue and Glendale until their retirement in 1978.
"Uncle John's" many loving nieces, nephews and other relatives will remember him as a kind and gentle man and will miss his warm smile and soft laugh.
Visitation, Thursday, April 15th, 2004, A.L. Moore Grimshaw Bethany Chapel, 710 West Bethany Home Road. Funeral Service, Friday, April 16th, Serenity Chapel, Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery, 2300 West Van Buren. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 East Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ 85014.
