Elsie Elizabeth Peterson on April 5, 2004, in Elk Grove, CA where she lived for the past three years. She was born in Butte, MT, on February 5, 1920 and married Sheldon Lloyd Peterson in April 1941. They retired to Phoenix in 1975 and celebrated 49 years of marriage before Lloyd passed away in May 1990. Elsie was a godly wife and mother and is survived by her children: Roberta Helweg of Phoenix, Leonard (Sue) Peterson of Elk Grove and Nancy Peterson of Boise and grandchildren in California, Utah and Carl Helweg and Kara Helweg of Tennessee (formerly Phoenix) plus 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Also survived by brother William Peterson (Delores) of Ellensberg, WA and sister-in-law Margaret Davis of Livingston, MT. Funeral services were April 9, 2004 in Elk Grove, CA. Graveside Services in Phoenix, at Greenwood Memory Lawn, 719 N. 27th Avenue, on Thursday, April 15, 2004 with visitation in the Chapel one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to The Salvation Army of Phoenix. Published in the Arizona Republic on 4/13/2004.
