Born in Santa Cruz, Calif., she was an artist and retired to Arizona 16 years ago. She is survived by her daughter Elle Alves of Sedona; her son Frank Schaeffer of St. Helena, Calif.; and her ex-husband and soulmate Phillip Schaeffer of Santa Barbara, Calif. Her ashes will be spread over Oak Creek Canyon at her request.
