Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Sunday, February 3, 2013 - Mildred “Milli” Billings, 96 of Lake Havasu City passed away Jan. 13, 2013 at the Havasu Regional Medical Center. Mildred Margaret Wright was born June 10, 1916 in Lincoln, Ill. to J.T. Wright and Harriett Jones Wright. Milli attended grade school, high school and business school in Peoria, Ill. She played the accordion, loved music, sports and dancing. She was also active in many church related activities. Milli worked at many office jobs and at Caterpiller Tractor Co. during WW2. Milli married William A. Billings of Peoria, Ill. in June 1947. The couple moved to Palo Alto, Calif. in 1954 where she became a medical secretary and accounting representative at Stanford University Hospital Clinic. Both Milli and her husband worked for the Federal Civil Service. After retiring, they moved to Lake Havasu City in 1974. The couple liked to travel across the county visiting friends, relatives and places of interest. Milli was active with the Community Presbyterian Church, Presbyterian Women, bell choir and choir. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, parents, three brothers and three sisters. She will certainly be missed by her church family and friends at the Moyo Apartments. She will always be remembered by her infectious smile. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Feb. 9 at the Community Presbyterian Church, 3450 Chemehuevi Blvd. A reception luncheon will be in the Fireside Room immediately following the service. Memorials in Milli Billings’ name may be sent to the Community Presbyterian Church, Lake Havasu City.
