Wilma was born in Fort Branch, Ind., July 16, 1924, to Otto and Jewell (Jefferies) Burke. Wilma worked as a hairdresser in Indiana before moving to Tucson in 1974 to continue working as a hairdresser. She then moved to Yuma, then Kingman before settling in Lake Havasu City in July 1991. Wilma was an active and beloved member of Havasu Christian Church. She was also a frequent visitor of the local Taco Bell. Wilma is survived by her son, Francis Newman and his wife, of Hazelton, Ind., and their children; as well as her extended church family. Visitation and viewing for Wilma will be Sunday, at noon at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home with funeral services beginning at 1:30 p.m. Pastor John Walton and Pastor Claude Bulger will offer words of comfort and inspiration.
