Fred Wallace, 76, of Lake Havasu City, passed away Monday.
Fred Paul Wallace was born Sept. 29, 1936, at Woburn, Mass., to Ralph and Pauline (Gangelers) Wallace. He attended high school and at age 17 Fred enlisted in the Navy Sea Bees. After one year, he transferred to the Marine Corps. As a Marine, he served in Korea as a .30 Cal Machine Gunner and attained the rank of Corporal. After leaving the military, he worked as a truck driver and Reading, Mass., Reserve Police Officer. Later he became and continued as a heavy equipment operator and retired 40-plus years later.
Fred married Theresa Coelho July 10, 1955. They were married for 50 years, until she passed away in 2005. He was a member of the Elks, Eagles, and the Marine Corps League Color Guard/Honor Guard.
He is survived by his three children, Fred, Jr., Pauline and Kenneth; four grandchildren, Erica, Robyn, Meghan and Jennifer.
Services with Military Honors will be today, at 1:30 pm at the Elks Club. Condolences can be left on www.lakehavasumortuary.com.
