Dante “Doc” Marinelli, 88 of Lake Havasu City, passed away on Jan. 26, 2013, of natural causes.
Dante was born in Barisciano, Italy, to Vincent and Rose Marinelli in 1925. He moved to Detroit, Mich., as a young boy and attended school. There he met and married the love of his life, Ida Marinelli, whom recently preceded him in death in 2010.
Dante served in the U.S. Army from 1944-1946. Following his discharge, he pursued a long career in medicine. He practiced in the Southern California area most of his life.
Dante retired to Lake Havasu City with Ida in 2004. He always stated that it was the best move he ever made. He had many memories of the Elks Club, poker games, boating, and dinner parties with close friends. He was so grateful to all his friends that made him so happy.
He is survived by his loving sons, Dante, of Lake Havasu City, and Derrick Marinelli, of Anaheim Hills, Calif. He leaves behind two daughters-in-law, Terrie and Kim Marinelli; and six grandchildren whom he adored.
Visitation will be at Lietz-Fraze Thursday, at 6:30 p.m. The rosary will follow at 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be at the Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church at 10:15 a.m. Friday.
