Skagit Valley Herald (Mt Vernon WA) Sunday, February 3, 2013 Our beautiful wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister and aunt, Kathryn Marie Yasi, 58, of Palm Desert, California, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2013, surrounded by her loving family, after struggling with cancer. She was born on March 1, 1954, in Wickenburg, AZ, daughter of Jo Gudel and Doug DeHart. Though taken too soon, we have faith in the knowledge she is rejoicing in Heaven free from suffering. Kathy graduated from Rowland High School in Rowland Heights, California with the class of 1972. On June 16, 1973 she was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart Edward Yasi in Rowland Heights. Kathy loved her career as an escrow officer and was employed at Lawyers Title Co., in La Quinta at the time of her passing. In her spare time she loved traveling, making desserts, going to the movies and spending time with family and friends. She was loved very much, and her friendship, help, encouragement and love will be sorely missed. She is survived by her husband Edward S Yasi of Palm Desert; one child, Tammy (Kirk) Cannon of Seattle; three grandchildren, Hailey Cannon, Elle Cannon and Drew Cannon; her mother, Jo (Al) Gudel of Palm Desert, California; a sister, Deborah Scott of Simi Valley, California, and many loved ones around the world. She was preceded in death by her father, Doug DeHart, and father-in-law, Daniel Yasi. A "Celebration of Life" service will be held Friday, February 8 at 11:00am at Hope Lutheran Church in Palm Desert with Pastor Carl R Witt Jr officiating. A guest reception will follow immediately after the service.
