DEKAM, Michael

In loving Memory... Michael DeKam left us on the evening of April 10, 2004. Though he is gone, he will never be forgotten. He was proud to be the loving Father, and Hero, of his beautiful Daughter Jessica, and his talented Son Nick. He found the love of his life, Kathleen DeKam, to whom he was a faithful and loving Husband, and with whom he shared his dreams for the past five years. Through this relationship he became advisor, friend and father to Heather and Blake Aguirre. He was fortunate to be the son of Maryalice and Lee Chapman and brother to Mervette Poiser with whom he loved greatly and who will miss him dearly. Throughout his journey through life, not only was he called Dad, husband, and Son. He was known to so many as Friend, Mentor, Nurturer, Comedian, Prankster, Boss, Partner, Teacher, Role Model, Relentless Worker, and a Kind and Giving Soul. His love of his family, love for life, ability to comfort and entertain those around him, incredible drive, eagerness to inspire, and selfless acts of giving have touched many. He will be remembered as a Hero and Protector, as he was in the last moments of his life. For those who knew and loved him, their lives will forever be changed. As his journey continues, he will continue to inspire, to nurture, to love and most of all to be loved. We miss you and love you eternally. Memorial service was held Thursday, April 15, 2004 at Desert Hills Chapel, 6500 E. Bell Rd., Scottsdale, AZ. Published in the Arizona Republic on 4/14/2004.
