William Walter
William Walter Folks passed away peacefully in his home of 54 years on April 10, 2004 in Phoenix, Arizona.
Mr. Folks was born in Hydro, Oklahoma, October 31, 1911, he was 92.
He retired in 1976 as a head chef for the Googies Restaurant chain.
He was happily married to Syble for 33 years when she passed away in 1972.
Mr. Folks was a World War II veteran. His uniform and other military items are on permanent display at the Queen Mary in Long Beach, California.
Mr. Folks leaves behind a family who will always love and miss him. He will be remembered for his hard work, kind, caring, generous and honest ways. His sense of humor kept all things in perspective. He was a champion of all of his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and their spouses.
He is survived by his sister Ruby McBride and brother Otis Rogers, daughters Ginger Murdough (Dave) and Peggy Shirley (Gene) along with his cousin Jean Shattuck, nine grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren plus two great-great grandchildren and his friends.
Visitation Greenwood Memory Lawn, April 15th, 2004. Services will be at Greenwood Memory Lawn on April 16th, located at 719 N. 27th Ave., Phx, AZ. The family suggests donations to Hospice of the Valley.
