Patrick Hart Benton, 70, of Chino Valley, Ariz. passed away Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013 at his home. After a long struggle with cancer Pat succumbed to a heart attack.
He was born in Holtville, Calif., March 17, 1942, the son of Lawrence and Margaret Benton. He lived most of his life in Southern California retiring from Avery Labels after 27 years of service. He moved to Chino Valley, Ariz. in 2004. Pat's passions included restoring his model T and any other mechanical projects. He also was very involved in his community including volunteering with our Nation's Veterans and the youth of our area. As an officer of the Chino Valley Elks Lodge, Pat can be called upon to help with any and every project.
Pat is survived by his wife Anne of 23 years; three children, Patrick Benton of Jean, Mo., Paula Grover of Centerton, Ark. and Patricia Depeel of Bella Vista, Ark.; two step children, Christopher Daum of Ontario, Calif. and Emily Daum of Los Angeles, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Pat is survived by four brothers Don Benton of Swansea Ill., Dave Benton of Hood River, Ore., Daryl Benton of Winder, Ga., Michael Benton of Sparks, Nev.; and one sister Lou Ann Monk of Box Springs, Ga.
Memorial services will be at a later date.
