Rodney Leroy Slade, 76, of Farmington, N.M. died Jan. 31, 2013, in Mesa. He was born Feb. 5, 1936 to Raymond Hubert Slade and Ruby Elizabeth Stewart in Eagar.
Rodney lived most of his life in Eagar and worked for Southwest Forest Industries as a truck driver for many years. He also owned his own trucking company. In 1978 he took a job with GMAC as a field representative and moved to Farmington, N.M. where he spent many years. He has spent the last few years driving truck.
He is survived by his six children: Duane Slade of St. Johns, Dani (John) Sherwood of Gilbert, Dale (Jean) Slade of Farmington, N.M., Denise (Jeff) Raban of St. Johns, Shanna (Kim) Penrod of Springerville and Curt (Colette) Slade of Albuquerque, N.M. and 23 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Hubert Slade, mother Ruby Elizabeth Williams and brother Douglas Slade.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, in Red Mesa Colorado at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
