Filo Hernandez passed away on January 14th. Filo grew up in El Monte, CA with 1 sister and 6 brothers; he was still maintaining friends from El Monte High class of 1950 at his death.
Filo worked for many years in construction and for the National Park Service of Arizona - Tuzigoot and Montezuma's Castle from 1991-2001.
Filo enjoyed working outdoors and telling visitors about the monuments.
Filo is survived by his sons Steven (Barbara), and Phillip, daughter Kristi. He is also survived by a sister - Margaret Rodriquez, brothers Antonio, Manuel, Louie and sister-in-laws Ana Marie Galvez and Martha (Gary) Weeck, grandchildren Amanda, David and Kevin and many loving relatives and long time friends.
A memorial service will be held 10 A.M. Friday, February 15th at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 344 W. Workman Ave., Covina, CA.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Heart Association.
