James Stewart Preston passed away Jan. 18, 2013 at Lake Havasu Regional Hospital. He was born Oct. 8, 1940, to Stewart K. and Jo (Hastings) Preston, in Los Angeles, Calif.

After graduation from high school, Jim joined the Navy where he served until he was honorably discharged in 1963. Jim retired from Publishers Engraving Co., Arleta, Calif., in 2007. He and his wife, Nancy, then moved to Lake Havasu City. Jim was a member of the American Legion, a member and tireless volunteer of the VFW Post 9401 Men’s Auxiliary.

Jim is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; stepson, Larry (Marie) Woodruff, of Overlin, Ohio; stepdaughter, Beverly Woodruff, of Wentzville, Mo.; stepdaughter, Sherie Snider, of Salisbury, N.C.; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

A Memorial service will take place at the VFW Post 9401 Saturday, at 2 p.m.
