BOGENREIF, Douglas A. (Doug)

Vistoso Funeral Home, Oro Valley, Arizona Douglas Bogenreif May 25, 1932 - February 3, 2013 Douglas A. Bogenreif passed away peacefully on February 3, 2013 at the age of 80. He was born in Sioux City, Iowa to Doug and Ann Bogenreif. While attending the State University of Iowa he earned a varsity letter in baseball and was a Phi Gamma Delta fraternity brother. After graduation from college he served in the Navy, stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii. He had a brief career as a semi professional pitcher before entering the life insurance industry. In 1958 he married Alice, his beloved wife of 54 years. He was a loving father to Linda. His career took him to Massachusetts, California and Ohio, retiring as Vice President of Cincinnati Financial. Upon retiring, Doug and Alice moved to Arizona. He was very active throughout his life. Known as "Bogie" or "Dougweiser" he boxed, played baseball and basketball, skiied camped, hunted, fished and played tennis and golf. Tennis and golf he enjoyed right up until his death. Doug loved his family very much. He was a true and loyal friend to many. He will be in our hearts forever. A memorial mass will be held 11:00 am Saturday February 9, 2013 at Santa Catalina Catholic Church. Memorial donations may be made to Santa Catalina Catholic Parish.
