The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 02/12/2013 Grace Lorraine Miller, 93, died Jan. 28, 2013, at Fredericka Manor Care Center in Chula Vista, Calif. Grace was born Aug. 5, 1919, to Lester William and Neva May Malcom Norris in Shelly, Idaho. Grace was an exceptionally talented artist, seamstress and crafter. All her friends and family marveled at how Grace could take nothing and make something incredibly beautiful. She was also an accomplished pianist and loved to play her electric piano. Grace was married, after a 10 day whirlwind romance to a Navy career man, Cleland D. Miller, March 23, 1943, in San Francisco, Calif. Grace was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Cle “Bing” Miller; two sisters: Neva Stradt and Eunice Jamison and her parents from Oregon. Grace was a member of Daughters of the Nile where her husband was a Shriner of Al Bahr Shrine Temple of San Diego. She and her husband enjoyed traveling all over the world and shared an interest of bird hunting. Grace is survived by her sister and brother-in-law: Francis and Douglas Bunch of Prarie City, Ore.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lorraine and Jon Vaught of Vernon, Marilyn and David Knox of Corona, Calif., six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Nancy Elias-Vargas of Chula Vista, Calif. for her tender care of their loved one. Grace will join her husband at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in Point Loma, Calif. with a private family gathering.
