Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Wednesday, February 13, 2013 - Glenn Elias Walters, loved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all that knew him, passed away Feb. 7, 2013. Glenn was born in Douglas, Ariz., moving to Southern California as a young boy. Growing up in California, Glenn loved sports, playing both baseball and football. Glenn joined the Air Force in 1965; he always had a story about being stationed in Libya. After the service he worked as a mechanic on large equipment while going to night school. He later joined his brother, Walt, in the mortgage business where he met his wife, June. Glenn and June moved to Lake Havasu City in December 1992 when he purchased Acoma Stop & Shop. All will remember Glenn hanging out the drive through window and will miss his charm. Glenn was a friend, mentor and father figure to many, always giving advice whether you wanted it or not. He loved football, spending time with friends watching the game, and the long conversations with Michael on who would win. Glenn is survived by his wife, June; son, Michael (Gina); daughter, Danielle (Tyson); brothers, Walt (Lidia), and Carl (Lynn); grandchildren, Evan, Tessa, Grace, Haven, Mercy, Eva, David and new baby boy, several nieces and nephews and their families. Glenn is also survived by his best friend and his business partner, Kim and Linda and so many friends who he loved as family. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Jane. Services will be 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at Calvary Baptist Church, 1605 S. McCulloch Blvd., Lake Havasu City, AZ 86406 with a reception afterwards to celebrate Glenn’s life. “BH”, you left us too soon.
