CASSIDY, Michael Scott

Kingman Daily Miner, Kingman, AZ - Published on February 15, 2013 - Michael Scott Cassidy passed away Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at his lake home in Virginia Beach, Va. He was 59 years old and born in Haverhill, Mass., to James and Anna Cassidy. He met his wife, Betsy, in college, and they spent 38 years of love, partnership and parenting together. His job with Tucker Housewares brought them in 1980 to Kingman, where they lived for 18 years and raised their four children. Among many things, Scott started the fantasy baseball and football leagues there. He also sponsored and coached the softball team Black Attack to many championships. Scott was an ardent Red Sox and Patriots fan. He spent a summer "making memories," traveling the United States going to baseball games across the country with his children. Scott was the consummate family man. He was an involved father and caring mentor to all of his children. Scott and Betsy went to Virginia Beach 10 years ago to open up what would be the first of two business locations, ASAP Eye Glass Repair. Scott was "Papadoo" to seven grandsons: Alek and Aden Dunton, Payton Cassidy, Coen, Dax, Link and Declin Colbaugh; and three granddaughters: Kenedee, Abee and Marlee Cassidy. Scott was predeceased by his father, James Cassidy. Scott is survived by his wife, Betsy, of Virginia Beach; his mother, Anna, of South Hampton, N.H.; his children, Meagan Dunton of Kingman; Ryan and his wife, Lisa, of Virginia Beach; Brennan and his wife, Megan, of Kingman; and Devan and her husband, Josh Colbaugh, of Kingman. He has two brothers, Keith of Salisbury, Mass., and Jimmy and his wife, Betty, of South Hampton. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and out-laws, nieces and nephews. Scott will be missed by all. His life was celebrated at a private ceremony.
