SCOTT, Ruthie Mae *

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 02/19/2013 Ruthie Mae Scott, 103, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013 in Springerville. She was born Jan. 4, 1910 in Spur 7, Arkansas, the daughter of Alfred Wheeler Edmunds and Lulu Irene Graves Edmunds. Mae Scott was a beloved aunt, friend, grandma and mother. Mae will be remembered for her generous heart, incredible cooking, amazing crochet skills and her spicy personality – even at 103. She is survived by her sons: Millard Scott of Eagar; Wayne Scott of Roosevelt; Gerald Scott of South Fork; Mike Scott of Mesa; daughters: Marguerite Jones of Antlers, Okla.; Marcelene Durham of Truxton; 25 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren. Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Scott, daughter Martha Lou and sons, Gene Lavelle and Ralph Jefferson “Buddy.” Funeral services were held Feb. 16, at the Alpine Community Center in Alpine.
