MARTINO,
Jason (Jay) M.
Jason (Jay) M. Martino.
Jay left this earth plane to a more peaceful place - with God in the early hours of Thursday, April 8th, 2004. Jay was surrounded by his loved ones, mom, sister and step-father, holding his hand and telling him how much he was loved. We will always remember him as a loving son and grandson, devoted father and caring brother. Proud of his children and family, Jay's accomplishments in this life will never be forgotten.
Jay was born in Pueblo, Colorado on September 3rd, 1969. He graduated from Central High School in 1988. He attended ASU and Mesa Community College. As a dedicated employee of the Arizona Republic, his 15 years there have left his friends at work with many cherished memories.
Jay was such a diehard Bronco fan; he even had the Bronco emblem tattooed on his calf. He surrounded himself with every Bronco memorabilia he could get his hands on. Jay was also an avid shot glass collector. Many family and friends contributed to his collections, to which he was very grateful.
Jay's best times were with his children and jet skiing at the lake. Jay always said that he felt free of all life's problems while jet skiing.
Jay is survived by his darling daughter Ashley and his precious son Jarryd. His mom, Marilyn and his stepfather Larry Radiff. His father, Ray Martino and stepmother Lauri. His sister, Stacie and brother in-law Eric Sedlmayer. Grandparents Iverna and George Morley. Uncle David (Pam) Erkenbeck, Aunt Verna (LeRoy) VanMeter, Aunt Pat Patterson. Special friends Denise Ferrantelli, Shane Kendzior & Clint Thompkins. Aunts Jean and Dorothy and Uncles Mark and Sonny of Colorado. Special Mother & Father-in-law, Paulette & Randy Ogden. Numerous other relatives and friends.
A special thanks to Nicki Pardon and Sam Barrows of the Hospice of the Valley and Dr's Donise Warden, Eric Boyd, Frank Trejos, Jack Cavalcant and nurses. You were such a great support to Jay & his family. Also survived by his loyal golden retriever Katie.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 17th, 2004 at Chandler Christian Church, 1825 S. Alma School Rd, Chandler, AZ. The scattering of Jay's ashes will be in late June, 2004 at San Isabel Lake, Colorado.
