Walter P. Sharp, 79, died Nov. 3, 1971, at St. Luke's Hospital in Phoenix, Ariz. Born in Camden, N.J., Oct. 27, 1892, he came to Arizona in 1907.
He worked for a number of years with cattle companies in Northern Arizona and was director of the C.C.C. He retired in 1962 from the Fish and Wildlife Service after 32 years. He also played bit parts in some of the early silent movies.
Survivors include his wife, Kate, of Phoenix; one son, William H. Sharp of Phoenix; two daughters, Francis Bushman, of Prescott, and June Ezell, of Prescott; eight grandchildren and one sister, Mary Ireland, of Winona, N.J.
Services were Friday, Nov. 5, 1971 at 2 p.m. at the 14th Ward of the LDS Church in Phoenix, Ariz.
Interment was in the Green Acres Cemetery in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Note: Walter was the son of Samuel and Carrie (Hillman) Sharp.
