Virginia Whipple 84 On February 19th, 2013, Virginia Brinton Whipple quietly passed away in her sleep at the age of 84 in Mesa, Arizona.
She was born on March 22, 1928 to Van and Vida Brinton in Mesa.
Virginia graduated from Mesa High in 1946 and married her sweetheart Willard H. “Bud” Whipple in the Mesa temple on September 8, 1950. They lived in El Paso, Texas for 27 years then moved to Mesa.
Virginia worked in the library at Keller Elementary School for nearly 20 years. After she and Bud retired, they served three missions together for the LDS Church in Mexico City, Monterey (Mexico), and Uruguay. They also served for many years in the Mesa LDS temple.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Rula Flake, Dilworth, Van, Robert, and Richard, and her grandson Zachary Whipple.
She is survived by her loving husband, Bud, her five children and their spouses: Willard and Nadine, Joan and Paul Farnsworth, David and Shannon, Tom and Luzetta, and Rob and Jenny, and by 26 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Surviving siblings are Ruth Hiatt and Donna LeBaron.
A viewing will be held at Bunker’s Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa on Monday, February 25th from 6-8 PM. The funeral will be held on Tuesday February 26th at the LDS building at 1415 E. Southern, Mesa at 10:00 AM.
There will be a viewing at 9:00 AM prior to the funeral.
