Richard (Dickie) Diaz, 74 passed away peacefully surrounded by those he loved on February 15th in Mesa.
Dickie was born in Jerome, Arizona; he worked as a copper miner in San Manuel, Bisbee and Bagdad. After retiring from mining he became a member of the Laborer’s Union #383. He served as one of the board members for many years. His work took him to places all over the state, where he touched many lives.
He is survived by his daughters Lily Jane (Ralph) and Kathy Hernandez, 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, brothers Tom (Sylvia), Fred, sisters Gloria (David) and Yolanda (Richard), many god children, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and close friends.
Dickie is preceded in death by his mother Hilaria, sister Jean Montoya, son Richard and father Thomas.
Memorial Services will take place in Phoenix at one of the places he loved to visit on Monday, February 25, 2013.
Dickie will always be remembered for his strength and love he gave to all. His guitar playing and singing. His memories will be with us all forever.
