VANMETER, Joseph (Joe) W.

West Valley View, Avondale, Arizona, Friday, February 22, 2013 Joseph "Joe" W. VanMeter, 91, of Avondale died Feb. 17, 2013. Mr. VanMeter was born Sept. 10, 1921, to Wilson and Mabel Criswell VanMeter. He grew up on his father's farm in Buffalo, Ind., and started a plumbing business after returning from World War II, where he served in the Navy. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Monticello, and the White County Saddle Club. He and his wife, Delores, moved to Arizona several years ago and were members of the Church at Litchfield Park. He is survived by his wife, Delores; three daughters, Lonna VanMeter Gutierrez of Goodyear, Bonita VanMeter Funk of Tucson and Pamela VanMeter Dunston of Athens, Ga.; and two sons, Thomas VanMeter of Atlanta, Ind., and Joseph VanMeter of Washington, D.C.
