Erma Irene Klumpp Worden (October 4, 1918-February 19, 2013) of Wickenburg, AZ formerly of Grass Lake, Michigan passed away surrounded by her family under the care of Hospice of the Valley.
Erma is survived by three children Ann LeVan of Willis, Texas, David (Debbie) Haselschwerdt of Marietta, Georgia and Betty Jo (Bob) Matiska of Wickenburg, Arizona. Erma was blessed with nine grandchildren who she loved spending time with whenever she could. Troy (Linda) LeVan, Tracy McCoulloch, Doug (Rebecca) Matiska, Stacy (Jeff) Gray, Nicole Denney, Jason (Rose) Denney, Justin (Diane) Matiska, Megan and Kelly Haselschwerdt. Her family grew to also include seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
Erma was the oldest of Orrin and Claudia Green’s eight children.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Keith, Lester and Orrin Green, Marian Tase and Lorraine Bush.
She is survived by two sisters, Virginia Welch and Louella Dawson.
Also preceding Erma in death are three infant children, son-in-laws Dale Denney and Alan LeVan, husband Malcolm Haselschwerdt, husband Raymond Klumpp and husband Harry Worden.
Erma’s friends, nieces, nephews and extended family will always remember the smile she greeted you with and her willingness to help wherever she was needed. During her years in Grass Lake she was active in the United Methodist Church, The Eastern Star, served as village clerk and volunteered many hours at Cedar Knoll retirement home. Erma believed in staying busy to keep your mind and body young and continued being active after she moved to Wickenburg. In Wickenburg she was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, volunteered in the hospital gift shop, volunteered at the Desert Caballeros Western Museum, volunteered with the talking book program, and volunteered and was employed by the nursing home in Wickenburg.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church of Wickenburg, Hospice of the Valley, or a charity of your choice. Per her request cremation has taken place.
The family will hold a memorial service Sunday, March 10, 2013, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Wickenburg at 1 pm.
