Robert was born Dec. 16, 1924 in St. Paul to Ardre and Veronica (Rojewski) Roshone. He attended and graduated from Palmer High School in 1941. Upon graduation, he moved to Wyoming, where he worked for various ranches and led pack trips into the Wind River Mountains for the Box R Ranch at Cora, Wyo. While he was in Tucson, he met and married Mary Stewart Rice on Dec. 24, 1955. After their retirement from the Rancho de los Caballeros, they spent summers in Hawaii. In 2005, he moved to St. Paul and lived the remainder of his life there. He loved the cowboy life. He always said he had a good life, good wife, and a few good horses.
