Bernard “Bernie” Persons, 69, died Feb. 20, 2013 at his residence. He was born July 8, 1943, in Ticonderoga, New York, the son of Byron Persons and Gertrude Monroe Persons.
Bernie served his country in the U.S. Army from 1960-63; he was a mechanic. After that he worked as a ranch hand and laborer on ranches. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping and telling stories.
Bernie is survived by brothers: Bradley (Helen) Persons and Brandt Persons of New York; brother-in-law Vernis Knickerbocker; sister Brenda (Raymond) Wright of New York; and four nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Beverly Knickerbocker and brother Byron Joseph Persons.
