Norvel Owens Mortuary, Flagstaff, Arizona Ruth Stinson (February 2, 1930 - February 25, 2013) Ruth "Ruthé” Aurora Ortega Stinson, 83, lived in Flagstaff since 1963. She went to be with her heavenly father on February 25th, after a long hospital stay. Ruth was born in Riverside, CA on February 2, 1930, to Marguerite and Lawrence Ortega. She married the love of her life, Dave in 1956. Ruth graduated from Poly Tech High School and Riverside College. She proudly served in the Naval Reserves for 3 years. Ruth was very active in the Lady Elks, assisting in organizing events and serving as a board member. She loved to host and play Bunco with "The Bunco Girls". She was also with the FMC auxiliary for a short time. Ruth was involved in local politics and campaigned to elect Governor Castro in 1974. Ruth enjoyed painting, ceramics, needlepoint, baking, knitting, reading, entertaining and shopping. Ruth enjoyed watching sports, especially figure skating, and was a booster for the NAU Lumberjacks and rooted for the Coconino Panthers. Ruth loved to travel, visiting most of the country, Mexico and Ireland. Ruth went to work for Greyhound, Inc. as a ticket agent in Riverside, CA in 1955 and continued working for the company, in Flagstaff, until 1993. She was working for Budget Rental Car at the time of her death. Ruth is survived by her daughter Marguerita "Cissy" Flores Carrillo (Frank). She was preceded in death by her loving husband, David, and daughter Juli. She is survived by several grandchildren, 2 nephew, 3 nieces, her brother-in-law Tom (Donna), cousins and many loving friends. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 5th from 6 to 8 at the Norvel Owens Mortuary 914 E. Route 66. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday morning 10 am at the San Francisco De Asis Catholic Church 1600 E. Route 66 (access off Ponderosa Parkway), burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
